A request for your support for Buddy World

Post by splinters »

As some of you are no doubt aware, Buddy World is a website I set up to bring unique stories and characters into the homes and classrooms of children. It is the result of 10 years hard work, writing and illustrating digital books and developing the website along with learning material and activities to showcase them. I would now like to ask for one minute of your time to support it and invest in developing it further.
The site has been entered into the Barclays Bank 'Take One Small Step' competition to win £50,000 to develop or start a business. If you wish to help the site develop to its full potential all you have to do is click the link below, enter the number you see on screen and then click the 'add your support' button. No registering needed at all. The link for the entry is:

https://www.takeonesmallstep.co.uk/Entry/View/2268"

If you are not completely sure what you may be backing then please visit the site to take a free tour or become a member:

http://www.buddyworldbooks.com"

I really appreciate any support you can give and encourage you to send this link to as many of your friends as possible as the regional winner is determined on votes before a panel make a final decision. I believe anyone from any country can vote so please do pass the link on to anyone you know.

Yours gratefully

Paul Woodward

I voted for Buddy World!

Before voting for it I looked at a small sample of the most visited and most popular in the same region and category. No surprise that Buddy World was the most deserving.

Cheers guys, the money would do wonders for myself and the family. I could hire someone to do technical stuff and marketing etc. leaving me to get on and create some more stuff....really struggling at the moment to cram it all in alongside a full time job.

Still, your good will and support helps to keep me going... :worship:

Try to start a buzz in an international community of humanitarian action for children. While hunger is a priority, they are sensitive to education.

You can always count on my vote Paul. I hope that you get the funding! :) You should upload a video showing off some of your Buddy World renders. I bet you would get even more backing.

You might also want to look into this:
http://www.kickstarter.com"

Not sure how well that one works, but I saw some guy on the Unity forums using it. I think he's like 10 days in and already has over a quarter of his funding goal raised.

Again, cheers guys and I really appreciate the support. School keeps me so busy that I have to work into the early hours on the site and I am struggling to do it all. A cash injection would allow me to develop it without fear of losing my sanity (or family and job!).

You guys are absolutely great... :worship:

As for videos, I just made a little animated gif and an SWF file before realising that you cannot edit your entry to add a video....doh!
