Car dealing isn't fun...

Post by compPanda »

Hi. This is severely off topic but I have to express myself among friends.

I have had a car for sale for almost a month now - it is a rather old car (from 97) but with rather low mileage. The market is really slow. My current asking price was 2000 euros. A man called and managed to make me go down to 1300 euros - I am not sure how he managed to do that. Now I feel that I was way to stupid to accept this but as I have promised to sell for this I will have to honor my word (this is very important here and an oral agreement is valid).

What do you think? At least I might get the car sold - it only cost me money where I have it now. However, I feel a bit down that I am such a bad negotiator and managed to be talked into this position.

Btw, Marcel - it's French.. the car that is. But it have been working nice and never gone into strike. ;)

I decided to sell the car to a friend for a lower price than I was offered by this guy.
I think it feels better to sell the car cheap to someone I know than to sell it for some more money to someone unknown. I loose money on this deal but it feels better...

I think you got at good price for a 13 years old car. I have sold a Lancia Y10, 11 years old for 70 Euros 10 years ago. It took a long while before I could sell it. I liked the car. It's was like driving a gocart. The rest of my cars has went to to junkyard for nothing.
