It's a problem of the scene, the scene has 40 mb and when I hit the render button it start generation shadows, etc... but then stops like nothing happened. I tried to change to others parameters (scanline, medium quality, wireframe, etc).

No the render button does work because you said

It is either still processing a complex scene or you are running
out of memory.
How long do you let it sit when it looks like the rendering has stopped?

There is no message it just stop after 30 seconds of generating shadows. Ah and the scene has 72 mb and not 40.

72 MB...It's gonna take a while.
It might appear to be stalled, but let it run over night and see what happens.
