What can the Python Sciptor in Truespace do?

Post by BNG »

I know it can create and manipulate objects, lights, do simple animations, etc but is it capable of loading things like 3d ASCII text based model files and translating them to COB model files?

Can it be configured to export a model file other then those currently supported by Truespace?

What types of practical functions is the TS Python scriptor used for typically? Or do most people just find it somewhat useless?

Does the scriptor have a listening function like the Maxscriptor used by 3D max for cut and paste operations?

I really could use some feedback from the community on the Python scriptor and what it is capable of doing. I would imagine that many people are somewhat curious as well. Thanks, BNG.

PS: If possible could someone post a few generic scripts for me to experiment with. I'd like to learn to use use Python for TS, but unfortunately not much is posted about the topic in the web searches that I've done.

3dfuel had some truespace python info
