Flanker
Sort of hit the ground running with this one, so showing you and unhelpful screenshot even further through this project than usual. I've got a lot of vehicles lined up to alleviate my sheer boredom and a very strange sort of tangent I've been wanting to try for a while, I may merge this subejct to encompass the lot if it actually gets off the ground, so far I'm working on:
1) SU-27 Flanker
2) AC-130 Spooky
3) KA-50 Hokum
4) ch-53 Super Stallion
5) Lamborghini Gallardo/Chevrolet Corvette
Place bets on how many I'm not going to finish
1) The flanker
It's a real paint scheme for a change, the lights are unforuantely pants though...so there's no really good way to display this one, sort of made in my bored-off-my-face-monday off. Textured today....and I HATE textures with a passion that borders on holyness.
Lighting's pretty crappy so the shiniest part of the model is the pilot's helmet, of all things, and it shows off barely any of the bump mapping...but oh well. Looks good enough
I've got a nothing short of a "badass" image lined up for this, one that makes my computer tremble at the thought, but I'm warning everyone now that this is designed to test my post process skills as well as 3D skills, this one will have a more artistic quality than 3D looking or photoreal quality to it.

As ever, very highly impressive stuff Steve. If this is what you can produce when your bored, I'm dying to see what you can do when your "In The Zone".

Re: Flanker
Thanks guys...I kinda fixed a few things now
Better flares, now light bounces off the plane, and gels better
More range of colours
A bit of soft focus, then unsharp mask does wonders
Added a fighter group insignia
Flipped it
Added the sun
Corrected plane colour
Removed the messy flaps on the first plane
Added some DOF
Removed flares on distant plane

It's turned into a more 2D than 3D thing but there we go

Re: Flanker
In a scale of 1 to 10 (Which 1 is do a cup and 10 is do a super detailed spaceship). Which number you choose of doing this Gallardo (Or it's a Murcielago?)?
Great work man! You make things looks so easy to do

Re: Flanker
I'd rate this gallardo at around about 7...it's not an overly difficult shape, but there are important details that are jsut a pain, but made easier by the way I can create it using panels instead of one mesh like with the flanker...if you've got a grasp of how it works, easy, if not, you'll have a hard time mashing parts together
