Downloaded the Free version and gave it try.
Seems to be a very nice realtime render software with the purpose architectual type visualization in mind. It has some built-in animatable characters in it, but you won't get complicated animations that I aware.
Here's a quickie. Just took my MMC entry of a carousel, slapped it in on to a flat terrain.
Made some terrain modifications to create a independ for a small body of water. Added some trees and a default bus.
It didn't import any of the procedural shaders from Carrara (metal and glass), but that was expected. I didn't replace them with Lumion shaders, just left as is. Did a pretty good with an OBJ import with a UV - textured object (Carousel.)
I just zoomed in, panned around and made a movie, pretty easy to do actually.
It took about 10 minutes of movie render time for each second, so about 1 hour to render six seconds. Not bad and high quality for a 1280 x 720 and in Video codec: H264 Audio codec (no audio added - not sure if available in free version)
It has very good tools, not intuitive but pretty close. The videos get you up to speed pretty face.
If you don't have a good video card, your system might sputter - that appears to be the limitation. I don't recall the limitaions, but I think if your video card must be able to handle 1280 x 720 resolution.
It's a very nice program and the free version has lots of limiations, but one could make it work if all you want to do is just show your stuff. I think it may be limited to scene space because I noticed when I tried to put in details in on a zoom, I could get the brush size down to make detailed terrain adjustments.
Has a the standard important functions and takes a pretty good still render. I just tried the movie function cause I was curious. I added a render done by someone from youtube that has Lumion Ultimate SP2 and it seems to be a nice professional package for visualization purposes.
