The problem with installing XP as dual boot is that drivers for new computers will be harder and harder to get hold off. Now when we have Win 7, XP support is going to be dropped quite fast. You also have the problem off activating XP - will MS continue to do that? The best hope for Truespace is probably Wine but Wine has issues with TS 6.6 - I haven't tried TS 7.6 in Wine.
You will still be able to register and buy Vista for a long time, you can still buy XP (at least as an OEM).

And I predict that XP drivers for hardware will still be available for at least five years. Maybe ten or more, who knows, XP is the most successful software product of all time. You can still get drivers for w2000 for ATI cards.

And why would you use TS with linux? In fact, why would you use linux at all, don't you like yourself? (I'm joking, just in case that isn't clear)
