Blender 2.5

Post by splinters »

Anyone tried the latest Alpha yet? I am playing with it now and finding the new interface much better. Hell, I even managed to make something and use the sculpt tools...in just a few minutes!

Looks very promising.

I too have been playing with the new UI using Blender 2.5. I obviously like trueSpace's UI better but Blender is at least much more usable then before. The power it brings makes it a killer app.
At least our 3D future looks bright, we are just with a different bride... :)

I´ve been dabling around with 2,5 since about june last year when only half of the structure was in place yet and I like it very much.
the olnly thing that i dislike is the Collada exporter doesnt export my animations well and doesnt have the same level as the Collada exporter of
Truespace and Daz 3d or maybe I´m missing something.. ; P
Overall its very useable ! :D
But I´ve got a few brides

Do the scripts work with the alfa?
I tried a pre build for a long time ago and I couldn't get any script to work in that but they worked in the 2.49 version so it had to be something with that build...

I do however have to admit that the interface is much better. A question however - is there any good walk through for this new UI? There exist a Blender for Dummies book but that uses the old interface as basis.
