It's a fun game that gives the difficulty of rocket science a run for its money. You command an incompetent species of aliens called "Kerbals". It is their (seemingly) only goal in life to have a successful space program. As a result you have an inexhaustible supply of fresh astronauts to kill in whatever way you seem fit (though usually by fatal explosion).
That being said, once you get better at the game (and this may take a while) you can build space-stations and land on the Mün. Later updated added the option to explore the solar system even further.
