Well this is not a new thing and its all over the web if you look for it. I could not find anything about this in a forum search and thought you guys might want to have the option to support or not this legislation that will effect all of us.

For now as far as I know its not been passed. This is a copy from a post in a different forum.
The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), also known as H.R. 3261, is a bill that was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on October 26, 2011, by Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX) and a bipartisan group of 12 initial co-sponsors. The bill expands the ability of U.S. law enforcement and copyright holders to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods. Now before the House Judiciary Committee, it builds on the similar PRO-IP Act of 2008 and the corresponding Senate bill, the Protect IP Act.

The House Judiciary Committee held hearings on SOPA on November 16 and December 15, 2011. The Committee is scheduled to continue debate when Congress returns from its winter recess.

i already signed it. Even when iam not US citizen. This sux, it must be stopped. All this, its only a bussiness for the big corporations, they want just more and more money and to have their special laws and privileges. Ppl who download movies will not buy them anyway.

bitkar - You can call this an American govt 'reach out program'. It will reach out and squash anything it/they see fit, playing with Every countries freedoms. It Must be opposed by Everyone.
