Double-Twist Moebius Strip

Post by janetb »

Hi Folks!

Can anyone make a moebius strip type thing with two twists? I have absolutely no idea how to do it, as I don't know nurbs--only solids. And I haven't used a 3d prog in ages (it's amazing how much you forget)...:-(.... It's simply a long strip twisted twice and then joined at the ends. I did it with two strips in different colors taped together so I could distinguish the sides, but in TS I would like to make a single strip with a bit of thickness and a different color on each side. Any suggestions? Here's a quick model:

Thanks!
Janet

Hi Janet, here is one done in workspace using a cylinder primitive with the twist deform node on the output of the mesh of cylinder. It still would need some editing to get exactly what you showed. You'll find the twist deform node in the 'DX meshes' library inside the twisted torus example. HTH stan
