Cherimoya. Simple shape the rest is a texture made from the photo.
A little modeling an texturing for the stem and then the inside.
Time to this point 1 hr.

Re: Fruit - SMC 68 Entry
TS 7.6 model side.
This might be my entry. It is mostly made by point editing a sphere. I selected rows of points on the sphere then moved and sized them to fit the reference image.
For the cut one I used the shell tool with the setting to keep the the shelled volume = the inside. Boolean subtraction of a cube cut it in half. I made textures from photos and applied them. The Primitive Itch UV Tools plug in let me move, rotate, and scale the inside texture to fit.
Lighting is a group of six infinite lights pointing in various directions and one as the main light.

Very nice Cherimoya Finis.
I learned the other day, you can't eat the seeds.

Re: Fruit - SMC 68 Entry
Thanks Draise. I don't know anything about using UV mappers but I use the TS cube, sphere, cylinder, etc. the Primitive Itch plug in which shows the rotations, scales, and moves live in model side dx display.
Thanks Froo!
I might do a little post process on the edges where the inside meats the skin. There aren't sharp shadows on the real ones.
Trying to do a horned fruit or kiwano for this too. Now this is speed modeling. 35 minutes. A little thought before starting is worth a lot. I started with a geosphere since I knew that one level of SDS would produce the hexagon pattern and I hoped to pull the center vertex of hexagons to make the horns. I extracted the final SDS mesh for that. That didn't produce good horns so I modeled a truncated cone, placed copies around a third of the main body, and grouped and copied and rotated that. Then I Booleaned the cones and body into one object and applied SDS.
Now to make textures. I'll make one for the main body and one for the horns and try applying them with replace material or to objects before the Boolean. That would add a few minutes to modeling.

Very clever on the triangular fruit mesh! I wouldn't have thought of that for the spikes, i'll keep it in mind next time!
