Post by chromedragon »

Hello, If I add a cube to the workspace, what are the steps to round the corners?

Try right clicking the cube icon, set the resolution to like 16, place the cube in the workspace, then select the cube, now right click the smooth quad divide icon and set the angle to like 180 and then left click the icon to apply the smooth quad divide tranform. You can play around with the setting numbers of both to vary the degree of rounding. There are probably other ways, but this is one way that I'm familar with. PS: Many of the icons in TS can be right clicked to customize the modelers detail settings. Spend some time playing around with this feature as it's the primary way that I've begun to do to master TS. BNG. :bananacool2:

Hi, I was just wondering how to round out Cylinder Edge's.

I'm doing the "product illustration" tutorial (Chapter2a_part1), but 7.61 doesn't have (or I can't find) the fillet-top face tool.

So far I have right-clicked the cylinder to enter mesh-edit. Select the top face of the cylinder, but I'm stuck... I tried to add loops on the side of the cylinder, that works, but I cannot add loops on the top face...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Problem #1 (partially solved)
-edit-

Okay, I figured it out Here it is

Fix:
I added loops on the the cylinder, and Dynamic Sweeps with Offset 0 on the face.

**Is there a fillet tool in 7.61?/simpler way to smooth out cylinder edges**
-end edit-

Problem #2 (solved)
But now I have a problem Again

How is it i uniformily scale down the object using the widget? The widget in 7.61 scales it in X,Y,Z, move it X,Y,Z and rotate X,Y,Z .
I have no clue where to scale it uniformily, except in the info panel bottom right of screen BB Scale, That requires a little work. I was wondering if there was a simpler way.

I need to scale the cylinder object within itself, and how is it aligned constantly within the cylinder? (chapter2a_part3 Intro Product Illustration).

Any suggestions?

-solved-
I used the 'dynamic sweep' (open up dynamic sweep by right clicking the icon) switched Booleon mode to disabled and I can uniformly scale the cylinder :D.

thanks again!
