Introducing "QuinTopia" For FrooServer

Introducing "QuinTopia" For FrooServer

The other day here in one of these threads I mentioned that I was planning to create a gift for every person who sets up their own "OurSpace" server for the Community here and makes it accessible most of the time.

Well here's the first of what I believe will be many such gifts... a portal-ready scene, even inclused the lights, entry point cam, and nav properties.

This one's going out to Froo / Jason, more will follow soon for others among us.

I will post the teaser screenshot, but not the RsRcd zipfile here, that will go in Froo's E-Mail here tonight.

Great people deserve great scenes, and in the months ahead, we will all have some very awesome scenes to enjoy together in OurSpaces. :D

As always, click the image once or twice to see a larger detailed version.

Congrat's Froo !

Edit: The image states it's an RsScn file, actually it is an RsRcd file. ;)

I added the scene. It is at port 1113 on FrooServe.
You can login to 1109, and jump to the scene via the linkbar.

Very well done Mark! Really cool to run through this! :bananacheers:

You're most welcome my friend!

Yeah it's true, lol, it is fun to run through, I ran through it for an hour alone after I finished it, stopping occasionally on the precipitous (railing-less) platform edges to take in the view for a moment before dashing off through the tubes again, lol !

I designed it right from the start with the idea of how much fun it would be to have a paintball game running around in a place with tubes that had some open windows for making very difficult long distance shots at opponents, hehehe!

This uses Noko's awesome "Pano Viewer 2" method for the 360 degree atmosphere, very cool and handy toolset! :D

The modeling though took me 8 hours straight, lol, now you see why I don't model online! Hahaha!

Glad you like it! :D

well, technically in this particular scene there are only two objects, the skydome and then the (very complicated) QuinTopia structure. So, the time to make a scene is just a matter of how complex you want the scene to be, the fact is texturing it all can take as much time as modeling it all. The skydome was done in seconds thanks to Noko's Pano Viewer 2 toolset he made available to us all at the Caligari forum for download in his Course here:

http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSp ... ate=Master

And read this whole thread and download the downloads there and save the pages to the same folder where you save the related downloads:

http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/s ... php?t=6937

This is very important stuff to learn and utilize for all of us creating scenes for server use online. :D

Hahaha!!! yeah i set the run speed and walk speed to make stopping on those ledges a bit difficult! hahaha! I fell a few dozen times too! Maybe we should script auto-deploying parachutes! :D

oh hey Froo, you need to pop a clickable portal changer menubar into QuinTopia, I couldn't find one last night there.

yes I need to add a linkbar to that portal. I will get it done.
FrooServe is down at the moment; I am reinstalling my old video card.
I think my system has compatibility issues with the other one.
