DuskSpace at port 1111
Ok folks. I have uploaded Mark's (3dv's) Dusk scene, to port 1111.
Login to FrooServe, FrooSpace:
//74.110.110.205/1109
click the leftmost icon in the Linkbar to get to the space.
Now that's an immersive scene.
That's how we want to make these scenes, interesting and engaging.
Enjoy!

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
OK just went there. looks good but three things are needed, I will help do that.
1) the scale is a bit large, makes you feel tiny there.
2) the truePlay wire bug needs to be addressed in some way in that scene.
3) I will do this... there is an amazing scripted object in that scene with several lit vertice objects that have animated vertex displacement. Together they look amazing to watch and actually produce sound inside that semi-dome (an accidental discovery) all by themselves. There is supposed to be an auto-opening Panel in the Stack View which enables people to control the movement of the object animations, I don't recall if I ever finalized that or not, and I am also not sure if any of the scripting is usable in 7.6x so I will have to check. The animation controllers were a script hack of mine on SteveBe's Wavepool2 object, combined with Vertex Point Shading to make each point a lit up star. When they all run together, two or three as I recall in the same limited space within that acoustic semi-dome, they give the appearance of a galaxy being formed and expanding randomly in all directions in several colors and orbits, and then they collapse and do it again over and over differently each time.
I think this one may be doable, but will require some work no doubt. The Overall scene is awesome though with or without the animated starfields and the acoustic Dome.
Thanks guy! Cool to walk around in this once again!

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
UPDATED NEWS:
Stan and trueBlue and I are in Duskworld playing around, and I tested the special effects "Oracle" object that is in it.
It works fine online in trueServe7.61 and also offline in trueSpace7.61.
Here are two still pics of it in action, but they don't really convey how cool this is to watch in constant random animation there in realtime.
There is a yellow "sun" object which explodes out and shrinks back to a point randomly displacing the vertices each time in a loop.
Also there are two other orbital planets, lit in blue and red by vertice lighting as are the points of the sun object. The planets revolve around the sun, each in a different orbit.
all this happens at the same time and is very neat to watch!
Be sure to click through on the pics below for a much clearer look at them.

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
yes, it'll be there Steinie!
Everyone, please let me know if there are any issues.
Yeah I forgot to add that highlight fix script to the scene. Doh!
Actually, anyone can add that to the scene. I need to get in the
habit of adding it to Every scene.
Mark or stan or trueBlue: Do you want to drop that in the scene?
Yes, the scene is a big overscaled. I dropped it in as-is; I noticed everything looked
pretty huge! That is a BIGGIE for OurSpace development: Ensuring all parts of the scene
are scaled in accordance with the avatar's point of view (POV), to enhance the immersive
experience.

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
Ok, the scene is officially trashed.
I tried to rescale it properly and it crashed me, and now i cannot use FPN in that particular scene at all on re-entry there, it locks up trueSpace every time now to simply hit my FPN icon in there.
That scene needs to be fixed bad now, and i am done with this today.
the scene file can be found in this forum, and when loaded is scaled properly. why it inflates to a rediculously huge scale when in trueServe I have no idea, but it is a mess now and FPN wont work for me anyhow now.
have a great day, that ruined mine.

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
Ok I'll get it fixed tonight Mark. Sorry about that man.
Maybe, instead of scaling every object in the Scene, we need
to rescale the Avatar. We can do that with the FPN properties.
That would be easier, since we only change 1 thing: the avatar
height, as opposed to a multitude of things: Every item in the space.
I should check this; I wonder if the server has default settings for avatar
height, speed, etc. for a space.

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
I crashed to when activating FPN. There was two OLD FPN panels that I think were the culpirts. I think that the large scale is GREAT. I like big worlds! I fixed what I could and all seems fine to me.

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
hahaha Tiny Steinie! Funny!
Thanks for fixing that trueBlue.
So, once you deleted those old FPN panels, you could then login to the space,
and activate FPN without crashing? If so, that's great! That would be one thing
to check from now on then, when activating FPN causes a crash.
I wonder why they were left over in the first place.
I am reading the trueServe manual to understand it better. Hopefully
I can do some things with the spaces to make them function better.

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
I can only guess that those panels were not compatible with tS761. FPN works fine. It is really easy to scale the whole scene, but I did not do so because it looks fine to me. Just select both Object nodes in the LE and scale with the widget. Easy as Apple Pie.

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
oh very nice. Ok.
That is an easy fast way to scale everything, proportionately.
When you said 'old', I thought you meant, a panel that was left lying around after someone entered, then exited.
I didn't think about a pre-7.61 version of the FPN node. Ok.
thanks!

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
Thanks guys,
yep, I forgot about leaving old fp properties panels in the scenes i saved, it was my own fault. lol.
Thanks for fixing it up guys, now we know one more thing to avoid!
I am hoping we start making serious progress on three particular focus areas as top priority over the next week or so, Avatars (and all that word entails), Scene Entry Permissions, and utilizing The Caching System if that is even do-able. Vital areas all three. I will do what I can to help on all three.
Has there been any trueSpace human-model Avatar rigging work done where a related avatar is brouht into Poser 4 with a functional bones rig intact?
If so I can use that model to generate thousands of custom BVH files for re-use in OurSpaces from a clickable in-worled float panel (with very little help if any). i can make BVH files in seconds from scratch, the only issue is the skeletons being truly compatible with existing or future avatar rigs in trueSpace7.6x.
We're forging ahead fast here together for sure, Shamu in OurSpace? hehehehe! Gotta love that!
Bear in mind there are lots of football games and soccer that are caught on WebCams and fed to web feeds that could be snagged that way too!
Pass the pretzels dudes!

Re: DuskSpace at port 1111
I'm reading through the trueServe manual to understand those 3; stan is working on access permissions.
That is mentioned in the manual as well though I have not gotten there yet. Cacheing is doable as PaulA
pointed out. There is a command for that in the trueServe manual. I have to read that too.

Yeah we are all neck deep together in this, lol, there is sooooo much to learn and soooo much reason to fast!
Thanks Froo and everyone pulling together on all this, it's vital stuff to us all and the Community as a whole right now for sure. : )
