I know some guys are still busy and I'm also way behind even if it is just for fun, so who wants more time? or do we just wrap it up?

alright, the dead line is midnight tonight, if there are more "yes" votes than "no" at that time, we will extend it again :) why not, we're in no rush right? although leaving it too long might let it stagnate into no activity so perhaps this would be the last extension...

How many days?

well, since its a monthly competition, i'll extend it for another month, probably the last week of October around the 25th or so.

I think if you extend it then it should be with the condition that the new date is final.

I agree with this being the last extension, It seems the WIPS are a little neglected and I would hate to see this one just get forgotten.

agreed, let's see if others reply in the next few hours but it seems like we'll have one last shot and this one before moving on to the next one...

should be consider a little sub rule that states 1 WIP update per week minimum? Just to motivate people a little? Of course it will be conditional, since RL has its own rules and quarks but just to help people prioritize a little more effort into it?

I think just having a definite deadline is motivation enough. Sometimes there will be less interest or everyone is just too busy so there won't be a lot of finished entries. I'd just have the vote on what is there and start the next one.

How about a Sticky in the WIP section with a Guide for WIP's with examples of what to post. for me, being new, I have no clue what people want to see in a WIP, would they prefer the wire frames, textures, setttings, or are a they just looking for a rendered progress update.

I'll open my WIP tonight or tomorrow, outpost it's a cool and embracing theme

Cool! Didn't know this was going on. Now I have some hope that I will actually get done . I have a few buildings left but started the texturing phase. Some cool stuff using Parva's offset shader with a few tweaks here and there. Will post something in WIP I hope today with a glimpse of this part.

Kewl! Will you show us some details of the Parva's offset shader when you use it?

YES most definitely! Some realy cool stuff I've been finding out. Marcel on the Caligari forums showed how to use the depth foreground shader. AWESOME! This can make offset maps for Parva's offset shader. Last night I completed the Cheribin (Winged creature) which is going to use this method to decorate the temple with. Some more experimentations on getting a good offset map then short tutorial in WIP section since that is the purpose for the MMC, show and tell which I've havn't done enough with.

Ok did the initial show and tell of Offset shader in WIP thread, more is needed and I hope to have time later to get into the nitty gritty plus have more to show.
