Introduction

ClothMotion is the cloth simulator that operates with trueSpace4.x and trueSpace5.x. This tSX simulates the movement of the cloth by physics calculation and able to make the vertex animation.

I do not guarantee it at all to all the problems that occurred by using this software. It is possible to use this software if you accept it.
Please send request, bug report etc. with e-mail.

Reference

Unzip all files into your trueSpace tSX directory.
Open the 3D Plugins window and load 'ClothMotion.tsx' into the plugin panel.

Dialogbox - Frame :

Frame

Start Frame,End Frame

The frame of the start and end of the simulation are set up.

Sims/Frame

The simulation calculation number for each 1 frame is set up. When cloth moves fast and go through the collision object this value is enlarged. However, it is not useful when the collision object moves fast.

sample2The value of Sims/Frame is set up in 2. Red:The 0.5 frames that calculated it internally. Yellow:The result after 1 frame that was improved.

Corrections/Sim

The number of the growth revision processing between 1 frame is set up.

Collisions/Sim

The number of the collision detection processing between 1 frame is set up. In the case that a plural collision object is approaching and collision determination do not succeed you raise this value. However, it is even when it is not improved.

Continue

The simulation calculation result of the previous time is considered. It is able to simulate it without advancing frame, when make start frame and end frame the same value and the simulation is repeated.

New,Load,Save

The initialization of setting. The load from the file of setting. The save to the file of setting.

Start

Calculation is started. The progress is displayed in the progress bar. When it pushes  ESC key the calculation is stopped.

Cloth

Please push [set] button, after the object that wants to simulate it is selected. In the case that there are many vertex processing time is required.

Gravity,Wind

Please push [set] button, after the dummy object that designates gravity and wind is selected. Direction and power are adjusted with Z axis of the dummy object. Gravity and wind can cause the animation.

Structural,Shear,Bend

The hardness of the spring system is set up. As for each spring effective/ineffective change is produced with the check box.
Spring system.Vertices of the cloth object.
-Structural ... Preparation from the edge of the cloth object.
-Shear ... Preparation from the diagonal line of the face of the cloth object.
-Bend ... Preparation from 2 edge of the cloth object.
StructuralShearBendFigure that expressed the influence of the spring.

Spring Damping

The loss of the mechanical energy of the spring is set up.

Max Stretch

The biggest stretch rate of the spring is set up.

Vertex Weight

The weight of cloth is set up.

World damping

The loss by the viscosity of space is set up. It influences the simulation of wind.

Start,End,[Start]

The function similar to the Frame page.

Dialogbox - Collision :

Collision

Add,Delete,DelAll,Invisible

Push [Add] button, after the object that wants to detect collision is selected. When the object name is selected from listbox the object that shows the collision range is displayed. This object is eliminated automatically, be able to eliminate optionally with the [Invisible] button.

Type

The form of collision detection is selected. When it is not the collision object a polyhedron, Polyh type is not able to select it. The Sphere type is made to the ellipse. The plane type is an infinite plane.
CylinderSphereExample) The bone was set up to the Cylinder type. The joint was set up to The Sphere type.

Elasticity

Depending on the flexibility of the collision object it is the loss of the exercise energy of cloth.

Use Parameters,r,h

The size of the form of collision detection is able to be set up. The collision range is able to be adjusted by the h=value, in the case that the collision type is Polyh.

Flip Z

The space side of the Plane type is changed.

Repulsion

It is considered only the Ployh type. The recoil at the time of collision is set up.

Dialogbox - Fix :

Add,Delete,DelAll

Push [Add] button, after the object that wants to fix the vertices of cloth is selected.

Fix-Vertex Set,Fix

First of all choose the name from the listbox. Choose the verticespeak that wants to fix it with the Fix-Vertex Selection tool. When you pushed the [Fix-Vertex Set] button the vertices is set up. It is possible and also unfix, and also fix it with the [Fix] button.

Such the tool that selects the peak that wants to fix it.

Dialogbox - Misc :

Misc

Earth Collision,Height,Elasticity

It collides with the ground. The height and flexibility of the ground are able to be set up.

Self Collision,Vertex Mass

It collides with a/the self. The distance that vertices collides is set up.

Memorize Shape

Setting up hardness the elastic body is simulated.(fake) But, the fix object shall be the condition where it was fixed with only 1 piece.



Tips

  • When you make cloth with a few polygon the calculation is fast.
  • When it does not carry out self collision the calculation is fast.
  • Make the cloth object with a square polygon.
  • Do not give the same name as the object. After it set up it the name is not changed.
  • The collision object does to decide large.
  • The Polyh type is not complete.
  • Test the simulation with a short frame number.
  • The plane object of trueSpace is becoming a bag state.
  • The setting of the parameter changes it at any time in accordance with movement.
  • Do the backup to make sure before the simulation.
