Hi all, recently i installed trueSpace for Illustrators for testing it, but the rendering current object is really slow with the multithreading enabled, the scene is only the porshe 911 object from the object library, i tested in the modelside from 7.6 version all is ok, it s fast, in trueSpace for illustrators i need to set to 1 thread to have a good speed for the rendering.
Where is the problem ? , my CPU is a Ryzen 7 3700X 8 cores 16 threads.

Yes, DirectX drivers issues may lead to speed problems.
Try to render the same scene in a Wireframe mode window. Does it speed up ?
On my current computer i7 13700K with 32 Go RAM, trueSpace is crashing when I render hi-resolutions pictures (more than 4000 pixels width), or with many transparent materials. I found that if I reduce the power of the processor to 50% in Windows' energy management options, there is no crash. So I guess the issue comes from a read/write conflict in the CPU or RAM. Perhaps it computes faster than trueSpace provides scene information.

Re: Problem rendering multithreading in trueSpace illustrators
Emmanuel, i have always the same problem, core and threads are detected but the render is very slow, this don't happen in tS 7.6 modelside, maybe it's what your say "the issue comes from a read/write conflict in the CPU or RAM" or "it computes faster than trueSpace provides scene information."
Re: Problem rendering multithreading in trueSpace illustrators
Have you explored any particular shader incompatibility issues? The Porsche object has several different shaders. It's possible that one of them is causing a problem.
If you paint the whole car with the Phong shader, without any transparency, the rendering remains slow?

Re: Problem rendering multithreading in trueSpace illustrators
Just a quick question, is it still possible to get TS for Illustrators? Any help appreciated.
Re: Problem rendering multithreading in trueSpace illustrators
I've re-installed trueSpace for Illustrators to make some tests and I confirm it takes more time to render than tS6.6 or tS7.6 !
So this is not a driver issue. Ts for i is definately slower than tS6.6.
Perhaps its render engine was modified to handle Photoshop's layers but the code was not as polished as tS7.6 when Caligari released that product.
TrueSpace developpers, and especially Vladimir Sisolak, was very concerned about fixing old Modeler bugs during tS7.5 and 7.6 development.
TrueSpace7.0 took too much time to develop and it finally was a big failure because Workspace was not really usable and Modeler side was almost broken because of interface problems and tools bugs. The whole team was mobilized to react to this and tS7.5 has fixed may bugs from previous versions.

I think tS7.6 and tS7.61 (Model) has everything needed for illustrators
