We could leave the URL as it, but it may be better to register a domain name. Since this is a collaboration work, we are looking for ideas.
truespace.com, .net, .org, .info, .xyz are already taken. But .news and .world for example are still available.
We could also decide to choose a 2 words name, like http://www.truespace-community.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, or even decide to make this site the start page for United3Dartist.com... All ideas and proposals are welcome ! This is your tool
We apologize we didn't got in touch with all of you before adding your artwork, links to your videos and webpages. That's the cost for a surprise
As usual, if you don't want your renders to be published on that website, or want us to remove some link or information, just let us know and it will be done in a minute.
Of course, this is not a frozen website : it is a Wordpress CMS, so that's easy to edit. You are welcome if you wish to contribute to its content.
Now, the big question : why this site and why now ?
- 6 years after Caligari's departure, we realize that we are still using trueSpace. Although it has become one tool among other in our 3d toolset, it has proven its value. In other words, it is not a dead software as long as you are using it, and as long as it meets your needs. Cellulo's Modelside V2 also demonstrates that, bundled with all its plugins, trueSpace can be a very complete package. Cellulo's efforts deserve a dedicated website showing its potential.
- All the informations new users may like to know are scattered on various fans sites (DD, Clinton, Draise, etc...), or drown and spreaded among the threads of the United3dArtists forum. If we want to feed the old vampires we've become with some fresh blood, it is essential to gather the useful links, tutorials, FAQ and files for download in a well-referenced professional-looking website. This will help new 3d hobbyists to decide if it is worth to invest time in a discontinuited software.
- Prodigy, Draise, and other people are using the Workspace side for professional projects. This means that despite its "work-in-progress" state, the new trueSpace plateform has a development potential. Clinton, trueBlue, Draise, Prodigy, Stan and other developpers' scripts already contribue to make WS a more usable environment. We belive other talented coders could join and add new tools, so we could provide people with new installers based on trueSpace STD version.
In one word, this website is an INVITATION, for the adventure to go on.
