Off topic: visit the medieval castle

Post by marcel »

Ten years ago, I made a castle which was part of a set of worlds. The images are not beautiful. it looks more like a sketch but it is possible to visit all the rooms. missing furniture. just click on the image to change view and move forward. Sometimes you can lose yourself in the darkness of the early stages. you can find hidden rooms under the eaves. visit the library (several thousand books) or get into the tower or the donjon. you can walk on the ramparts and descend into the yard. there are 8 or 9 floors. I do not remember. it has been 10 years already! there is also the throne room with a large fireplace (but not the throne). in the main hall there is a glass sphere: do not click it because the link is dead! it was a way to go to another world (there was an underwater world and a prehistoric world). Last thing: you can find a way to exit the castle and visit the outside. I leave you to discover. ten years ago the screen was smaller, so the images are reduced, but remember to use the zoom browser. Be forgiving about the quality, remember with what we worked 10 years ago. Have a good trip.

I used the castle as a backdrop in my first film. He was beside of a mansion and a whole village (with its cathedral). Maybe a day i post here some old movie about this world...

I'm disappointed!
No dragons, no Crusades to join, no Religious conflicts, no Braggot, no vestal virgins
and no Bathrooms!!! You call this a Castle?
The exploration of the Castle was quite fun by the way. Did you use trueSpace to model?

There is no bathroom in a medieval castle. maybe on a hollywood movie.
this is the castle without all the furniture. Not a finished project. Made with an old version of truespace. i remember it was very funny to do. If you find the exit you should see that:

Wow
This is really big. How long did you need to do all the modeling and pictures?

The modelling of the castle or the whole with village, underwater world, mountain, river,etc...? :)
The castle represent about 10% of the whole. I think if i should do this castle today, it represent several months. difficult to evaluate because the quality should be better with the hardware of today. it would be fun to use this modelling to do better texture, more realistic and bigger image then add all the furniture inside.

Even better if you could FPN around your scene in real time. :-)
