Maximum size of VRay picture with TrueSpace 7.61

Post by Wigand »

What is the maximum size of a picture I can render with vray in TS.

I found that a width higher than 5000 pixels slows down enormously.
So I don't know if it is really possible.

I am just testing my new PC System:

CPU 64Bit i7- 5820k 3.3GHz 32GB
GPU NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070
Windows 10

I just rendered a 6000 x 4300 pixels image with VRay. It is slow but it works. With some very simple scenes, I can even reach the limit sometimes (8000 x 8000)

It mostly depends on your scene : number of objects, geometries, lights and materials.
Try to optimize your lightening and materials. Also, use Clinton's Poly Combiner plugin to glue all objects of your scene together and make them one single object ; VRay likes that very much !

I just try to combine a real photo with some TS-objects.
The photo has a real good resolution in the later rendering
but all my objects are not smooth enough.
Therfore I tried to enlarge the render to get better results.

I spent much time for a glas rendering. It is really difficult because
I had to change the lighting and the materials of the other objects
too.

To make one object from all objects I did not know, but I will try it.

How long did you wait for the 6000 x 4300?
What kind of CPU do you use?
