How to make a camera follow an object?

Post by MikomDude »

I'm trying to make a camera follow an object animated with keyframes, I don't want to give the camera any keyframes just attach it to a cerytain part of the object and let it stay there through the whole animation. Is this possible?

select an object and glue it with a cam. when the object move the cam follow. use the hierarchy to select the cam and change the point of view until you have the good view for your object in a view cam windows. unselect the hierarchy. when you move the object you can see in the view cam that the object seem don't move (only the decor of the scene move).

Does that also work in the workspace side?

If you want the camera to stay still but pan while an object moves past it, use 'Look At' tool.

Select camera, click on 'Look At', then select object that you want it to follow.
Note that it will center the camera view on the selected object's axis location.
You can set the Look At keyframe at the beginning of or at any point during the animation.
Render from the camera view window.
