I was trying to reorganize a scene and found that I needed the modelspace glue as child function, but I was working in trueSpace Rosetta version, so no modelspace.
First mode:
1. select the object that will be added tot he group and press "Set Child"
2. select the group object and press "Set Group"
3. press Glue to do it
This mode is useful for working in the Scene View, when the objects don't appear in the 3D view or need to glue deep down in a hierarchy.
This was developed using the Unofficial Update version of tS. The second mode probably works with non UU trueSpace if the snapping scripts are installed.
Second mode:
1. select the object that will be added to the group
2. press Glue
3. select the group in the 3D view then RMB to set the group and glue it as a child
To unglue, select the object and press the UnGlue button. The object will be moved into the top scene level
The scripts also work with NURBS and 2D groups and is mostly undo friendly
To try it out,
drag the node into /Scripts/CustomCommands
ctrl drag the panel out of the side panel view
The Snapping scripts or Unofficial Update must be installed and working first
The final version will have toolbar buttons for glue and unglue with rmb on the glue button to open the panel.
The unglue button will be removed from the panel and button highlight hidden from view
The script has 2 modes of operation.Workspace Glue as Child
