My new PC for games and 3D

Post by Cellulo »

I recently bought a new PC (nephew's PC), here the specs:

OS: Windows 10 pro, i can't transfer my Windows 10 licence from my previous PC on the new one because its was a Windows OEM version from my HP PC, Microsoft don't allow OEM windows version on new pc :x .

Motherboard : MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700 X

Ram: 16 gigas Corsair

3D card: always my old Geforce GTX 1060 3gb from my HP PC

Power supply unit: 650 Watts

Hp speaker: Presonus Eris E3.5 (really cool HP)

Box PC: Empire gaming WAREFARE, the one with CD ROM slot.

I made some tests in trueSpace modelside and Carrara i get fast renders because i have 16 threads with the 8 core, it's really cool :bananacool2: , also some games run very well now, but i need to change the 3D card to have more ram, but today 3D card are very expensive if we want raytracing feature and more, i need to wait when it will be less expensive.

I know my specs is old now, but for me it's big step.

The most important you didnt say!
For Adobe programs...scan software and Truespace ..
An ssd and both windows and Truespace.on it.makes it faster! Not a big investment but still...and yes if you want a new grafics card get a Rtx compatible new Nvidia standard.. 2000 series onward !

Great! Yes get 2000 series onward Nvidia if possible!
Look at the Omniverse threads....you can only use cards newer then 2000 series.. and RTX compatibility!

If you get a big graphics card consider the power requirements. You may need a bigger power supply too.

i think giving money to nVidia just because of raytracing is not wise. Its just a big marketing thing. Games are awesome even without it. Mostly you wont tell a difference.

Its not about raytracing..thats just one aspect! Realtime Simulation...cloud Computing Team Computing like Truespace Server shared Space....etc etc

650watts is ample for a 3060 card...!
