I am finding my way around Truespace Workspace Standalone. I have a basic model with no texture and want to render it in Keyshot. How do I export it?
thanks!

Export model/scene
Re: Export model/scene
Have you tried Collada?
From the Manual:
Select object to export. You can select multiple objects if you want to export multi-selection into one file. Select
whole scene (scene node) to export whole scene. In File menu, select Save. Type desired file name and choose
Rosetta Collada Export files (*.dae).
Click on Save.
Exporter dialog will open. Choose desired exporter properties and click Export.
Collada exporter provides various settings to allow exporting only resources you are interested in. These settings are
provided:
Animations: Animations will be exported. Start and end frames as well as desired frame rate are
provided in Animation section. When exporter panel opens, start and stop frame as well as frame rate
are set according to animation view.
Skeletons: Exporter exports skeletons with skinned meshes. You can enable support for bone
stretching for animations. This may not be supported by other applications.
Cameras: enable export of cameras.
Lights: enable export of lights.
Geometry: export meshes and skins. For geometry you can chose resources you want to export like
UV coordinate sets, normals or vertex colors. trueSpace Collada exporter allows to export geometry in
4 forms available by Collada file format:
o Export as triangles
o Export as polygons where faces with holes are triangulated (for compatibility reasons as holes
are not widely supported)
o Export as polylists where faces with holes are triangulated
o Export as polygons with holes.
Appendix C File Formats| 9
Copy textures: Create directory together with exported file and copy there bitmaps used by materials.
Split hierarchies: don‟t export hierarchy; every object will be added directly to scene root.

TrueBlue, it worked!
I was searching for something like File>Export....
instead it was File>Save
thanks a lot!

Re: Export model/scene
Hi all tSp lovers
Need some infos about Exporting from tSpace:
Recently modelled and assembled parts of a concept-chair (for a design contest) in my tSp 7.61 beta8 Full
Now i need to export these parts (in solid format for additional operations) to the chair creator that own Rhinoceros on his PC instead
Is there someone that could suggest me what's the best format to handle for?
Thanks in advance

Re: Export model/scene
What you are doing here is called retroengeneering!
TS is a poly modeler.. Rhino is a solid modeling application! Thats not an easy task! The magic word was further procedure! What further procedure!???
If its just for texturing then get the small free app objto 3dm from the Moi 3d pages or the obj importer script! It comes in into Rhino as a poly object! It can be textures and rendered in Rhino but not further modeled ie with booleans etc! There was once a Converter pack from Calligari that could export as iges format!
For Rhino since the last version you can transform polys into solids! Moi can do that to but it does SDS on the poly objects.. so you need to plan ahead for that! Fusion 360 has T spline tech so does the same thing! Freecad can also retroengeneering parts! So does a free application called Freeship! Type all these things into Google for further Information!

Re: Export model/scene
Thanks a lot Rayman
my first attempt will be the exporting all the components in STL then I’ll tell you if it's right or not
i ignored all these problems of porting tSp 2 Rhino (thinking it was easier)

Re: Export model/scene
None of those apps can read stl except Fusion 360!
Your better off with obj!

Re: Export model/scene
Here is the procedure...
The steps to convert:
1. Export from Blender in OBJ.
2. Convert from OBJ to VRML1, with Meshconv. **
3. Start FreeShip, and import the VRML1.
4. Export the file to IGES (NURBS).
5. Start FreeCad and then open IGES file and export it, to IGES or other formats NURBS, Moi3d does not open the file exported by FreeShip.

Re: Export model/scene
Save scene as vrlm 1! Or export in obj with Luuv plugin that comes standard with TS!
