TS GPU Performance on Laptop
I just finished watching this video. I have NVidia on my laptop, don't know what Optimus is, but when I checked in the Task manager I didn't see tS listing the GPU at all. When I went to the performance tab I see GPU 0 Intel and GPU 1 NVidia. If I spin the 3d view around I see GPU 0 showing activity. I changed the settings like in the video to force use of the second gpu and now I see GPU 1 showing activity. Just looking at the 3D view I don't see any difference. The test is suggesting I haven't been running it to it's full potential. I need to find something big that tS can barely handle so I can find out if it really makes any difference at all. Stay tuned for the results...

Re: TS GPU Performance on Laptop
I did some tests. Created a cube and applied a 6000x4000 image to it. Subdivided it a bunch of times and copied it around the scene. The GPU0 got up to 100% usage, but nothing changed in tS behavior, no lagging or anything. I changed the setting for GPU1 and usage got up to about 50%. I added more copies and got it up to about 70%. Restarted tS and it won't start.
So my final conclusion is that it doesn't matter how the GPU is set, trueSpace runs into it's own limits before the graphics card does.

Curious...
Did you happen to monitor any changes to the PlayerD3D.log when making these changes?
