Topics missing from 7.6 manual

Post by clintonman »

There seems to be a lot of missing information in the 7.6 manual for model side animation. Attached zips contains PDF files for model side animation, model side physics and extra workspace normalmap info from tS7.0

The flash plugin was included with the final trueSpace release. It can be found here: C:\trueSpace761\tS assuming truespace was installed to the default path. Attached here is the help file that was originally included with the flash plugin. The tsx and the help file can be copied to the tsx folder.

Thank you for help!
I have a question (I am new to this software)
When i looking at the PDF on Animation which you attached, I saw that it was labeled as the Caligari Artists Guide. And it contained a lot more basic info than the manual (exe) which I downloaded on the Truespace site. In fact the official manual keeps refering to the Artists Guide. Is the Artists Guide something completely
different from the manual I downloaded? And is there a way to download the Pdf of the Artists Guide if it is?
Thanks for all your contributions.

There was a printed Manual that came with trueSpace 7.0 titled
"Artist Guide"
When Version 7.0 first came out it had two sides "Model" and
"Player" The Player was renamed "workSpace" today.
So all the old examples and text would refer to "Player",
the UI also has changed after getting feedback from users.
There are many differences between the original 7.0 and 7.61 today.
I believe Caligari trimmed out parts of the paper manual to avoid confusion when the PDF file was
now their "New" digital manual. They stopped printing the paper manual.

As Clintonman has found they missed some chapters between 7.5 and 7.6 (or 7.6 to
7.61 not sure) in the PDF and he has been supplying them for us.

Thank you,
This makes sense. I have been experimenting mainly with the model side, since there are more tools, and I can export in other formats, and it has a render engine. Lately I have been playing with skeletons, trying to get the joints to bend properly and I just realized (duh) that the manual was refering to the Work side. I thought I hadnt found the buttons yet!
I was just hoping there was a downloadable help file which could explain the Modelling side of Truespace more completely so I wouldnt have to bug people with simple questions that I could look up. If it refers to a paper manual, then I would not expect anyone to go out of their way to convert it to a PDF doc.
Thanks for the info,
Baalizar
