Ye Utensil and Plate Clock
Time modelling: 1 hour 15 minutes
Software: trueSpace Workspace, version 7.61 Beta 8
Inspiration:
I got this idea from the Denver Museum of Science. There were several 'repurposed' computer
parts, converted into clocks. One was a full motherboard; another was a cd. There were also
floppy disks, disk drives, etc. I Soooooo wanted one but they were pretty pricey. But VERY cool.
I originally wanted to create a 3d model of a motherboard but realized I didn't have time for it, for
this SMC. So, a much simpler idea came to mind - the use of utensils and a plate as a clock.
I want to pay homage to our very good friend Norm, by using the code he created, in the Scripting a Clock course. I'd like to make that happen. And, put CrazyBob in the scene, looking at the clock, checking the time.

Pen Knife
Michelle Malkin's stiletto pen.
Modeling time: 1.5 hours
Texturing and lighting time: about an hour
Render time: a few seconds
TrueSpace 7.6 model side. Lightworks render.
Edit: Added an edge loop near knife point. New render and post process for contrast and clarity. Added modeling time above.
Edit: New render. All lights have mapped shadows now and hi res version of rock is used.
Edit: New new render. Fine tuned some textures.

Nerf Foam Safety Nails
TS 7.6 model side. Lightworks render.
Model time: about an hour. The bend tool baffles me sometimes.
Don't worry about the corners on the block. It is Nerf foam too.
