making of 'header images' ( setup a lightdome and more )
Hello together. This is a small tutorial about the header images from my website. Its really compact because youtube is restricted onto 10 minutes of video.
The tutorial is especially about the light setup (how i have created the lightdome) and the setup for the ground plane. So watch and have fun.

Thanks Double D
Awesome vid... neat and to the point..
I have never seen a light dome made with point clone... very cool... works great...
transperencey map on ground plain very slick... Two more tools for my arsenal...
You say in your video that these are simple things... And I agree... Most things are simple Once they are pointed
out... And as I have said befor.. You are a gifted teacher.. You point things out very well..
Thanks again
Cheers

Nice tutorial, and very peaceful voice hehehe..
I like your way to create a skydome light, it gives me some cool ideas..
Can i recommend you to use IBL to do that.. you will get the same effect, you can control all the lights with a single panel and you can increase and decrease the number of lights in a second for a fast preview.
Other thing is remember to unclick show environment and keep unchecked the "bellow ground" to have a half sphere illumination..
Great tutorial man!
thanks for share

Yes, i also tried IBL but for the same "soft shadow" result the IBL needs longer to render.
I prefer this methode because i use this lightning also for animations and if you have to render 1000 frames ( x 3 or 4 if you use motion blur ) then you need every second
