Re: Steinie's U3DA Game "What is it?"
When Steinie reports his answer of which city then the city will be revealed. Usually the first one with the right answer is the 'winner' but everyone worked hard and devoted much effort to this one (good!) so I want each participant to be able to give an answer.
Until then here is an instance of detective work related to CG https://blenderartists.org/t/where-is-t ... el/1275836
'Final' answers so far (no hurry and change them until this one is over):
Bitkar - Correct Location
Mikom - Moscow
Rayman - Soviet Republic USA, unspecified city
Steinie - pending
If anyone else is playing then post something so you are known.

Well, Steinie has not appeared so the reveal will be sometime on Monday Oct. 4. Y'all do a new one then.

I havent got time to find the exact spot.. so I answered in a political way.. but it must be somewhere where they speak the Russian language! Kyrilic! So that would narrow it in! But since we have someone who found it anyhow...!

It is Vladivostok, Russia
Everyone's first impression was Russia or similar!
Bitkar, tell about your methods to find it?
The image is a frame from this video https://youtu.be/pXAS-xv-aKw?t=277
I apologize for making this what is it a little messy. Often the first to find the answer is the 'winner' and that what is it is over. This time everyone put in so much effort, and everyone working together was nice, that I didn't want any of that effort 'wasted' and decided to wait for all participants to report.
Someone do a new what is it.

Re: Steinie's U3DA Game "What is it?"
I think this is fun and we should do a seperate thread for that.
Well i looked up all sorts of stuff, but lastly I tried to find what kind of statue is that. I know most of statues are like Lenin, Stalin or WW2 soldiers. So i searched for that and turns out its a pretty big monument, which I finally located in Vladivostock. I was focusing at bigger Russian cities (prior to that i tried other post Soviet countries too). Took me about 3 hours in total to figure it out. I was searching google, google images, google maps and streetview as a last step (sometimes duck duckgo).
