Found this while hiking. It is about 16in (40.6cm) long. It was on a steep slope of mountain foot hills near an old barbed wire fence. I don't know what it is.

Someone post an item that you know what it is for the game.

That's a very curious object. Is it a type of candle-holder? Perhaps a musical instrument of some type? Maybe a piece of farming equipment or a component of an alien spacecraft?

I don't know what it is however it does look like a piece of farming equipment. I would think it used to roll and the two straps would bulge out, criss-crossed and hold something in the bowl as it rolled on the ground.
Probably this was an axle shaft and part of a cart.

It's the fossilized end result of this:

Here's the hike/walk where I found it. link

I don't know what this is so it isn't properly a What Is It game item. Fun so far with all the ideas. It is pressed and extruded steel sheet metal. Put together with screws. No welding. The straps are metal too but are not corroded. There is little rain here and the steep slope would not have pools during a rain. So it could be older than the rust implies. The slope is steep for cattle. I only saw deer tracks or maybe big horn or barbary sheep tracks. The "dish" on one end is slanted because the item is bent.

Music: the tube is hollow and open. I don't think it is a musical instrument.

Farming: no farming. Too dry, steep, hard rocky ground.

Alien spacecraft: there is a missile test range and air force base nearby. Rarely, junk from that activity can be found outside of the military land.

Straps: they do like they held something.

Pesky brother: people used to hike all over the foothills here. Hikers could have brought this here. Since the internet kids just play games inside. No more dirt bikes, hiking, climbing, teen party places.

Fence: it is near an old barbed wire fence. Maybe it is a fencing tool.

Transportation: A record setting powerful whirl wind could have picked this up and dropped it here. That would be the grand daddy of all whirlwinds. We have had a few real tornadoes in the basin. Maybe it is from higher up the mountain and rolled down to here. It could have fallen from an aircraft.
