Re: The U3DA Kitchen
Thanks Froo. Steinie, birthday peach pie! Mmmmm.
Baking coffee can bread. I have a recipe from a newspaper from somewhere in Texas in the 1960's I think (original in drawer or such so don't have date).
3 to 3.25 cups flour
1 package dry yeast 0.25 oz
0.5 cup milk
0.5 cup water
0.5 cup oil
0.25 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
Stir together 1.5 cups flour and yeast. Heat milk, water, oil, sugar, and salt until warm. It should not be too hot to keep your finger in it. Pour into yeast and flour mixture and stir about 300 strokes. Stir in eggs. Add the rest of the flour and stir about 150 strokes. Put into 2 greased one pound coffee cans. Let rise in a warm place (80 to 85 F). Bake in preheated oven at 375 F for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. Cool in cans for 15 minutes. Tasty with butter.

There's not nearly enough coffee in that recipe as I thought there would be.
My go-to birthday cake is pineapple-upside-down cake.
Anything that starts with melting at least a half stick of butter in a pan is all right with me. Good thing it's only once a year.

I got apples from a customer's tree and made a pie. I also got a pomegranate from a customer's plant. Mmm.

mmm ...pie
This has been a banner year for my apple trees. Made up for the no-harvest /frost kill from the previous year.
Bugs and critters get most of them anyway. Gotta spray them if you don't want to share.
On tonight's menu: grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Whoopee.

Sausage gray and freshly baked biscuits with some hot java.

I hope you meant 'gravy', because 'gray sausages' doesn't sound like it would end well.
