Widgets Material question

Post by DesignDevil »

Hello together

i have a question about the widgets in tS. Normaly they are colored in green, blue and red. Is it possible to give them a texture instead of a color?

And also is this possible in TS 6.6 and/or TS 7.x ?

Thanks
I still use TrueSpace 6.6

I think it is possible to do that on workspace, not sure in 6.6 or model side.. :?

Yes a bit like this.

My idea, well not idea - more a dream, is to create the magic box maybe known from MAYA (see attached image).

I also believe that it is possible. There is one (just one) texture that i could found on a widget - on the global panel under grid settings.

But if i try to apply anything others then a color tS will crash.

Yes i know, that's what i try to do and also the reason to convert the SDK from C++ to FreeBasic ;)

I want to write my own plugins ;)

I am so far that i have created the "cube" (the widget). I can also click on his faces. Finaly there are "just" 2 problems *haha*

1. I have to find out how the widget can stay in position and correct size on the top right corner independend from the view (except the rotation), a bit like the view control widget in the right bottom corner

2. How can i apply a texture on the faces to write "Top, Left" etc. on the faces.

To give the faces different colors is easy, but if i try to attach a procedural or a image texture tS will crash. Normaly there is no function to do that but i used the "tsxPolyhPaintFace" function to attach a new color to a face and, what should i say, it works. But not with a texture. The point is, attaching the texture is possible - there comes no failure. But if the widget is in the viewport, then tS crashes. As if it has a problem to show it or "render" it.

No i'll release it ;)

The trick was modify the navigation widget..
And as you see workspace is extremely customizable.. :D

I need a few minutes, i'll make a installer and i like to create a panel to customize the widget.. Size, Location..
