Re: New model

Here's the correct pic. Still much to do.

Re: New model

Thanks Spacekdet. Rather annoyingly I’ve only just realised the latest update isn’t attached. It’ll have to wait until tomorrow when I’m back at a computer. Two of the things that were changed were the doors and the back wall.

Re: Save material

I'm not sure and haven't done enough testing to claim this as fact but it looks like there's some sort of hierarchy with texture maps winning over colour shaders. I'm painting a simple primitve with each texture/shader and saving from that to ensure the right one is saved. What's trueSpace without t...

Re: Save material

Ah! Have object selected. That's what I was missing. I assumed it would save it from the Material Editor. So if I have a model with several paints applied I'd be better of painting a simple primitive for each colour and saving those to the library. A small workaround.

Super, thank you.

Save material

Help! How do you save your material into the Vray Material library? I've got the material set how I want it but I can't work out how to save it. I have the Vray Material library up, right click inside it to get the menu but 'insert' is greyed out. I've tried all sorts but can't seem to save my mater...

Re: New model

Slowly but surely this is coming together. There is much I wanted to do to this tonight but I've just spent an hour and a half trying to glue a few bits together and move the axis. Workspace side sure doesn't make such things easy. It's a breeze in Model but that upsets the shaders applied and sends...

VRay Shaders

I'm guessing the answer is 'no' but worth checking... Are there any additional shaders for VRay other than those include as default?

Re: UV Editing

I'm used to (or was back when I was doing this stuff regularly!) painting the mesh to define areas and using Split by Materials in UV Cow. That's what I was trying to achieve this time but that's not how things are done now it would seem and that's what was really throwing me off. Now have a workabl...

Re: UV Editing

Thanks spacekdet, that was useful. Only real difference between that and the Workspace version is that once all the initial separations and scaling downs are done selecting by material (which is super useful) that there is no way it will show them all at the same time to be able to fine tune and exp...
