My thoughts on the past 10 years?
Its that peoole who have created art together are still
here.....around....for 10 years...! Technology is fading..art isnt.... personal contacts arent!
You use a computer..you use a pencil....watercolors or whatever! Thats secondary! What stays is what you create! TS is just a tool..just like Blender or anything you use..! What I dislike about technology is that its abused today to monitor people! Thats deeply undemocratic...!
If you look into countries that abolish freedom of speach of civil rights..and still dont have 100% safety..look into China with mindcontrol and Coronavirus!
No! One thing is what technology can achieve..and the other thing is how far humanity can go to abuse the possiblities!
Thats a problem of civilisation..and yes I am part of those just like Vivian Westwood who deeply sympathise with people like Julian Assange or Snowdon!
My trust in the modern world is limited!
I had very bad things happen the past 4 years to myself
by a very injust system....by people breaking the law multiple times! Remember Austria was a totalitarian Nazi country..and some of that spirit came back for a short period of time!
But I m full of confidence that its going to change for the better!

Apart from that yes I feel that TS 7 is still a very valuable piece of kit and just like most others here are thankfull what you and Clinton have done to keep it alive!
So thank you very much for your efforts! :bananacheers:

I have not done a lot of art for a number of years but I still kindle the flame from time to time lurking here.

If nothing else this site has a number of kindred spirits and keeping that company is very important to me.

You go to heaven for the climate, to hell for the company.

Hi Everyone!

This is Roman Ormandy. trueBlue contacted me a few days ago and II was dumbstruck finding out that TS community is still alive, still producing art and even new tools. I see the new TS version from just a few days ago and the new version of YafaRay from yesterday! I am incredibly grateful for that, you guys really touched my heart. I do not even know if I deserve it, but I am so proud. I will spend more time responding to some posts but for now some new info about myself:

After leaving Microsoft in 2011 I started a new company, Embody Corp ( www.embodycorp.com ) dedicated to wearable personal assistants. My design is based not on AI but on neural science and blockchain. It turned out that here in the Bay area, AI rules and the going is pretty tough. Feels like being in exile:) but I am still at it. Neural science is pretty cool, for one VR/AT headsets would not be so abysmal if their designers had a basic understanding of neural science. Same about crypto which is an even bigger revolution.

Meanwhile, I wrote two books: The God of Scientism which is basically the critique of mass media from the crypto culture point of view. https://www.amazon.com/God-Scientism-Me ... 790&sr=8-1

The more recent book is a cross discipline science book: Dynamics of Life https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... d_Bitcoins

The second book is a free download but regretably a difficult read:(

Like the chinese say we live in interesting times. I hope that a better world will result from the current turmoil.

Hi Roman!
Very nice to hear from you again!
I will look into the books as soon as I can!
Very interested to see your viewpoint on the matter!
I studied medicine in the 1980s and also psychology (Prof Erwin Ringel) as part of my studies so yes its a very interesting topic!
Greetings Peter

Romane, vítej mezi námi v této komunitě. Sice ti to trvalo, ale jsem rád, že jsi nakonec dorazil :)

Iam very grateful that this community is still alive. There is not many of us, but only the best survive ;) I hope we will still be here after another 10 years no matter how the world will look like :)

The biggest thanks from me goes to everyone who extends tS capabilities with new function, renderers, etc. Thank you gusys! You are absolute legends!

Woah, the one and only Roman!

Curious to see how your path went. I remember finishing my world trip to then dedicate my time to learning and mastering trueSpace 10 years ago, it was really a conceptual 3D software that's still got ideas way out there. Thanks for all that. It's amazing that it was all 10 years ago - and now here I am, living off my work, but it all started with trueSpace.
