trueSpace 6.6 service packs
http://www.caligari.com/download/ts6.asp?Cate=DTS6"
That's where they *were*. The page is still there but the links are dead. Those downloads need to be found and stashed somewhere for all tS 6.6 users to have access to.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
I never knew about them, until I started searching for version 2.1 of the Conversion Pack. The last update update to *that* is supposed to be fixed to install to 6.6 and 7.x. 'Course it's no use to the Workspace only versions of 7.x.
I tried archive.org but it didn't grab the downloads.
It wasn't because of a robots.txt file, it just didn't archive the files.

It's on the page linked in the first post.
Would you care to share the file you have? Would be interesting to see if it will install on tS that's just been patched from 6.5 to 6.6.

Got it, thanks! I still need SP1. This one says it can't update because file contents don't match. Needs SP1 applied first.

If your looking for TS6.6 for free you have come to the wrong place. However I think there might be
some users here that may sell you their trueSpace.

noerman you can get the best of ts6.6 with the 7.6 download and many of the addons run in the modelside of ts76.....
many of the addons are freely available from designdevil's web site http://www.designdevil.de/ or emmanuels plugins page http://emmanuel.asset.free.fr/tsxarchive/index.htm

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Try to 7.61 Beta 8 as it has both 7.61 Rosetta and TS 6.6. Thank God for this version as I was really struggling between TS 7.6 and 7.61 Rosetta standalone in terms of plugins. I sure wish Microsoft would revive Truespace as a commercially available product again. I love the sheer simplicity of TS and really think that all 3D modeling software should be as easy to learn and use.bitkar wrote:exaclty, no problem downloading it from lots of servers.v3rd3 wrote:fyi 76 is still available on cnet... http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.ht ... =downloads

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Did anyone fidn a place to get both Service Packs for tS 6.6? I have had 6.6i (Illustrator version) for years now ans only now have gotten serious about using it. I wasn't aware of the Service Packs until I read the firts post here, and would like to make my 6.6i as up-to-date as possible for an older application with no technical or other support.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Galane,
I believe trueBlue has indicated that trueSpace 7.6 (which should be available at the link posted by v3rd3)
includes Model side, which is basically version 6.6, with all the service packs 'built in'.
Is it possible you could download that and give it a try?
Maybe you could do an online search for the SPs. Or check some of the links in this forum. For, say, DesignDevil's links,
or Emmanuel's links, or Steinie's page, clintonman, etc. They have repositories of good stuff.
I may have them on CD but they may be buried somewhere.
If you do find them, can you post a link so others can benefit? Thanks.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
I've searched for the files many times, never have found them anywhere. The web archive only hit this page one time, back when to download you needed a user name and password, so the files aren't in archive.org.
The conversion pack 2.1 + its two service packs are still useful for model side in 7.6, but you need 6.6 installed to install the conversion pack.
If the conversion pack service packs are patches to version 2.0, then you first need tS 6.5 installed, then install the 2.1 updates. Then you can get the DLL files for 7.6 or install the 6.6 update on 6.5.
If you install conversion pack 2.0 on 6.5 then the 6.6 update it removes conversion pack 2.0!
IIRC, 6.5 had DirectX import without conversion pack 2.0 and the only way to get it back in 6.6 was with conversion pack 2.1, unless the 6.6 service packs also put DirectX import back in.
Ideally, I'd just like to get the conversion pack 2.1 installer, its service packs and the tS 6.6 service packs. If conversion pack has to go 2.0 onto 6.5 then update to 2.1 then 6.6, I'll have to make a fresh install of the whole works.
So until I can lay hands on Conversion pack 2.1, I have to keep an install of 6.5 with conversion pack 2.0 just for importing what 6.6 and 7.6 can't, to save to COB.
Fortunately, trueSpace 6.6 and below are self contained other than the user name and serial data so one can simply copy the install folder as a backup, then just make a new shortcut and re-enter the user name and serial to "reinstall" it wherever the whole thing has been copied.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Ok...I'm trying to find out what I need to do to get from 6.5 to 6.6.
I have the files:
ts66SP
ts66SP2
ts66CP21SP
ts66CP21SP2
When I click on these, it gives an error which says:
Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update since contents do not match.
I remember it may be a trick I needed to perform to make it work..maybe renaming a file somewhere.....OR am I missing another upgarde file?
I also have:
tsFlash
but when I click on it, it doesn't seem to be doing anything.
I have 7.6 running as well, but I want to back save some of my files to see if they will render, 7.6 seems to choke on them....they render about 1/4 of the way down then the rest goes to black. It is a rather large file.
Thanks for any help!
Regards,
Jeff

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
It appears that your PC needs more RAM. tS 6.x is a 32bit program so it can't use more than 4 gig for itself. To get the most out of 32bit software, run it on 64bit windows with 8 or more gigs RAM.
That way Windows can grab bunches of RAM for itself and leave plenty for 32bit software.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
I agree with you on the memory issue. I am running ts7.6 on a 64 bit system, however my curret motherboard is maxed out at 4Gb of RAM. The next step is to get a bigger/better computer.
I was afraid of what you were going to say.....time for an upgrade.
Still wondering on the upgrade from 6.5 to 6.6. I'd like to run some of the old stuff on 6.6 if possible.
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Rhino169 I don't know why your TS 6.6 things won't install but I run TS 7.6 with XP 32 bit and 2 GB ram. TS 5 works fine for me too.
The model side of TS 7.6 is essentially TS 6.6 plus a few goodies.
Try loading your old scenes into 7.6 and saving them as *.scn or 6.6 scenes from the Save dialog type list. Then open the scene saved from 7.6 in 7.6 (model side of course) and try a render.
Bad geometry could be a problem. Try 7.6 renders with various objects deleted, especially complex ones and ones with many tools used on them. Making objects invisible might work instead of deleting but deleting is more certain.
It is possible that the 6.6 installation files you have are corrupt and just won't work.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Finis...I'd be surprised if all the 6.6 files I have are bad...they all act the very same way and give the same error. Maybe there is something in the old truespace archives that mention the 6.5 to 6.6 upgrade. I will search there next.
As far as 7.6, I use the 6.6 portion of 7.6 all the time. I do as you mention and save my files as 6.6 always. I was hoping to save as 6.6 then open in a fresh old version of 6.6 to see if the older program would give me the same troubles. The file I am having the trouble on is 113MB with no textures. I have reduced the geometry to it's minimum to try and make things work...but I think I am at my system's limit.
I also want to use some of the older .tsx files as well on on the older ts6.6.
Thanks for your comments so far.

Good point. All the files wouldn't be bad. 113MB? In that case maybe it is memory size. I go to older versions too when plugins don't work with new versions or I prefer the way tools work there.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
*sigh* I'm still hunting the very elusive Conversion Pack 2.1 for trueSpace 6.6.
If you do a clean install of 6.5, don't add any 3rd party plugins or anything else, the 6.6 update should innstall without a problem.
What you do then have an issue with is any 3rd party plugins etc which were broken by the 6.6 update. Everything Caligari originally provided with 6.5 that needs updating should get updated by the 6.6 update.
Would have been nice if the 6.6 update would detect and update Conversion Pack 2.0 to 2.1 instead of removing 2.0.

Galene....I think I have the Conversion Pack...not sure though.
Check thew file neames I give in the early part of this post.
I will try to re-install 6.5 and then do the ts66SP update...if that IS the 6.6 update file?
I will report back after trying.

Same issue....
I loaded 6.5 fresh.
And then tried the ts66SP file and same error.
I tried it within the ts65 folder where ts6.exe exist and then tried it outside that folder and got and error just saying cannot find old file.
Still hioping for something from the older caligari forum...if its out there still....

try ts66sp.exe in ts 66, its a service pack for 66 not 65. you can manually copy the conversion pack into 66 from 65 there is one error with dwg if I remember. Just don't open the dwg panel.

that would be the ts66 installer from cd or download from caligari. It was a full install not a service pack.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
I had 6.5 updated to 6.6 running on Win8 32bit no problem, I had more issues with Vista and my AMD CPU's!
XP it was rock solid
I never ran TS6.6 with any more than 2GB of RAM infact at the end of the Cali days I was using a XP2000 office computer running XP and just over 1GB of Ram and a crappy 64meg intel video card and it was less hassle than the dual core system I replaced it with
6.5 to 6.6 is:
ts65sp-66.exe 8.560 meg
XP it was rock solid

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Somewhere there's an upgrader install from 6.5 to 6.6. I used it when I upgraded. Haven't used it since then because I've just kept the folder and only had to re-enter the serial number when reinstalling windows or moving tS 6.6 to a different PC.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Thanks Nigec for the file name.....unfortunately for me, my workhorse computer hard drive died out a while back and I miraculously had saved what I had thought were all the files to have Truespace running again just before it died.
Except, it appears, that file you have mentioned to upgrade from 6.5 to 6.6.
I have virtually every other ts upgrade around since I bought my first 4.3 version on disc. Since 5.2 it's been all download.
I have the:
5.2 upgrade cd
5 conversion cd
raypak cd
depak cd
anipak cd
fxpak cd
6.0 download
6.5 download
6.6 Service Pack
6.6 Conversion
6.6 SP2
6.6 Conversion 2
And then of course 7.5 and 7.6 and Vray.
And a host of other truespace cd's
I will keep looking...maybe it will still turn up. Thanks again

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Well after looking high and low, I am unable to find the file needed to upgrade from 6.5 to 6.6.
Nigec mentioned the file as listed below:
6.5 to 6.6 is:
ts65sp-66.exe 8.560 meg
I would be willing to buy or trade for this file.
If anyone is interested, please let me know.
email me at: rhino169@aol.com
If I am out of bounds here by asking, please let me know that as well and I will beg for forgiveness now

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
I believe I am all set now ...thanks to those who replied.
I would think we long time users could maybe pool our resources together for this now still very usable and relevant "obsolete" program.
It still kind of stings that truespace is no more, but maybe as a group we could share updates and older paks or cool powers. Nothing that is still being sold would be included...only stuff that is no longer offered.
I would think there could be a way to do this so it only benefits individuals who have actually paid for truespace at some point.
Just an idea.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
In other words a collection of essential stuff for tS 6.6 that's no longer available to buy or download from Caligari?

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
I guess that is what it would amount to.
I'm not sure if other things like the paks, ispace, cool powers, shaderlab, tsflash, conv paks, etc....would be included...but why not.
I kind of liken it the training courses. I paid for quite a few of those...and now you can just download them from a link here for free.
The only difference would be to somehow limit it to those of us who actually have paid for a version of truespace in the past....not sure how to monitor this part of it though.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Hello truePals,
Here Roberto Gomez from Mexico City.
I know, I am very late to the party ... sorry.
But I have some of the files members had requested on this thread ( trueSpace 6 Service Packs, Conversion Pack v.2.1, etc. ).
I have been a trueSpace registered user since version 1, so I have a good collection of the updates posted among the years.
Send me a message or reply to this thread if I can be of any help.
Roberto.

Bienvenido Roberto, a los foros estilo EspaciodeVerdad!
No seriously, you have a little goldmine of info.
Considering the legal take on "Abandonware" copyright, I don't see any problem on hosting it on a server somewhere!

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
I agree about sharing the old resources. Since there are only about 20 of us that still use truespace. What could it hurt?
truespace 3.2, 5.2, 6.6, ani-pack, flash plugin,........ you can check out my films athttp://www.chaosbrosfilms.com

Hi everyone,
I am sorry for the bump.
I've been looking for Truespace 6.6 (or Truespace 6.5 + update to 6.6) together with 6.6 Conversion 2 pack all around the net, failed to find.
If anyone here has it already, could you share please?
Basically looking for:
6.5 download
6.6 Service Pack
6.6 Conversion
6.6 SP2
6.6 Conversion 2
Many thanks in advance for your time.

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
The install for that one says it's for 6.5 and 7. I poked around my storage and found this one which during install says it's for 6.6 and 7

Re: trueSpace 6.6 service packs
Is there any chance to still get the ANiPack? Or at least an registered version of Dynawave?
